Martin 2006 D-28 1937 "Golden Era" Limited Edition Brazilian Near mint - This is one of the finest sounding modern day Martin guitars we have encountered. Deep, warm, fat and loose with great delivery and response. We compared it with a new D-28 Authentic which is around 40K, that we could tell very little difference. Both were full of life and that vintage tone that reminds us of that " Golden Era" mid 30's sound. Adirondack Spruce top that starts tight in the middle and flares to wide grain at the bouts , Adirondack forward shifted scalloped braces, Ebony fingerboard with diamond & squares inlay, fossil Ivory thru saddle, (1 3/4'') nut, bridge pins with black inserts, modified "V" Mahogany neck, grained Ivoroid body binding, Herringbone top trim, "C.F. Martin stamped on back of squared headstock, old growth medium color quartered Brazilian Rosewood back & sides with dark streaks in the center, Brazilian Rosewood headstock overlay, Waverly "Butterbean" tuners, Ebony traditional bridge, Delmar pickguard and top aging toner. This instrument looks almost un-played as there may be a couple of scratches on the pickguard and it still has the hang. Only 600 were made and you don't find many for sale especially in this condition as it is certainly a rare find. Comes with original hard case with green crushed velvet inside.
