Martin 1943 D-28 (War Time) Brazilian Rosewood Excellent condition - Outstanding specimen of a war-time 72 year old solid tone instrument. Several repairs that have been professionally done include: Bridge, saddle and oversize Maple bridge plate replaced, part of the top has been very lightly over sprayed, in front & behind the bridge, around the sound hole along with some touch up on a couple of small spots, 2 back cracks both run parallel to the center seam one below about half way down the back, the other one the top of the seam. Both have been closed and are solid. Pickguard has been replaced with a "real deal" along with the tuners to Waverly “Butterbeans” and 1 11/16’’ nut width, also a great older neck re-set and a fret job make it ready for the next 72 years. All work is expertly done and has made this instrument an extremely strong sounding and perfectly playing guitar that has that dry, fat, open & alive tone and power. Only 193 of these were made in 1943. It sounds just as it is supposed to for a 72 year old bone as these repairs didn’t hinder the sound at all. Comes with a newer deluxe hard case.
