Altman A-D1 Mahogany 1937 Model Dreadnought
New - Over the last twelve years we have been honored to offer some of the finest hand made instruments that have been available thru independent builders but we have never been more astonished about a new instrument that so closely replicates that “golden era” tone than these. We have been dealing with pre-war instruments for over forty years and have been privileged to own many of those great Brazilian Rosewood and Mahogany guitars, and our experience with these guitars helps us to recognize that highly sought after sound. “Subjective” absolutely, but to our ear and many players who have played this guitar, had the same response: “this thing has nailed the pre-war tone but has more power and clarity.” That big “booming” bass, mid range that “pops” and high end that is precise & clear along with raw power. The features are: Adirondack Spruce top, Adirondack braces, no tongue brace, 1 ¾’’ nut width, Ebony traditional bridge and fingerboard, Tortoise style binding, solid Ebony bridge pins, Honduran Mahogany back, sides and neck, thru saddle, Tortoise grain pickguard, traditional style rosette, dot inlay, Waverly “Relic” Butterbean tuners, “antiqued” top aging toner and varnish finish. The neck profile is very close to a “vintage now” style and the overall appearance of this instrument takes on a slight distressed look. Light as a feather but complete “ancient” sounding in tone, separation, power, clarity, headroom and playability. Priced with deluxe hard case. Please call for introductory pricing.

Altman A-D2 Cocobolo Rosewood 1937 Model
New - Over the last twelve years we have been honored to offer some of the finest hand made instruments that have been available thru independent builders but we have never been more astonished about a new instrument that so closely replicates that “golden era” tone than these. We have been dealing with pre-war instruments for over forty years and have been privileged to own many of those great Brazilian Rosewood and Mahogany guitars. Our experience with these helps us to recognize that highly sought after sound. “Subjective” absolutely, but to our ear and many players who have played this guitar, have the same response: “this thing has nailed the pre-war tone but has more power and clarity.” That big “booming” bass, mid range that “pops” and high end that is precise & clear along with raw power. The features are: Adirondack Spruce top, Adirondack braces, no tongue brace, beautiful grained Cocobolo Rosewood back & sides, Honduran Mahogany neck, 1 ¾’’ nut width, Ebony traditional bridge and fingerboard, Ivoroid Herringbone top trim, diamond fingerboard inlay, thru saddle, solid bone bridge pins with red-eye inserts, Waverly “Butterbean” Relic tuners, traditional rosette, Tortoise grain pickguard, Cocobolo Rosewood overlay, “antiqued” top aging toner and varnish finish. The profile of the neck is slightly less chunky to an “authentic’’ style and the overall appearance of this instrument takes on a slight distressed look. Huge tremendous overall sound with an “attitude.” Direct “woody and warm” open low end, punchy straight forward midrange, dynamic clear high end and power with a “growl.” A Rosewood giant that rumbles as soon as the strings are engaged and truly sounds extremely old. Priced with deluxe hard case. Please call for introductory pricing.
